I just realized
that my blog, which I've never told anyone about and never gets comments, has three comments left on the entry dated Monday Feb. 21, 2005. One is from a park ranger who found my blog "inquisitive" and invites me to check out her blog, which is about her day to day life as a park ranger. I'm assuming it's "her" because the comment is signed "mandyalexander581." The second is from someone who is, I'm assuming, a prostitute, who invites me to check out his/her blog and whose sign-in name is disturbingly "arnoldlando1471." The third invites me to get my college degree in "less then two weeks." I guess this particular college degree doesn't make a big deal about the difference between "then" and "than."
I haven't clicked on any of those links but it's pretty clear that they're all spam, even the prostitute, and if I did click I'd just be disappointed. It does seem weird to me, though, that the spam came in on three different dates, and none of them the date that I actually posted that entry. And that none of my other entries have any spam. Why that particular entry? Did I inadvertently type something that some spam program picked up on, not just once but three different times?
Well, there may be more philosophical matters for one smarter than I to pursue here, about what it means to be human in the first decade of the third millennium and so on, but meh. I've got a vodka martini waiting for me in the living room. So, you know, bye for now.
nb: Maybe a good future entry would be to post my recipe for my pepper martini. I could give it a cool name like "The Shadow" or "The Lamont," and I would also explain why I'm giving it that name. But I won't do that now.
Bye!

Hello Blogger World
I'm back blogging again. I was inspired by Jenny Loudon, née Veiten,'s blog (well, you try to punctuate that), which led me to my old blog, which inspired me to post again. It's 6:07 a.m. and I've been up for several hours with insomnia which is nothing new. The alarm clock goes off in 23 minutes (22 now) and we'll start our day which involves moving out of the house to Corona for three days while we're tented for termites. Today we're having brunch with Jeff and Tamie and tonight we're seeing Jeff Gaborko and family for the first time in several years.
I'm done blogging now. See ya!

Blog by DougThe previous blog posted as a link. I don't know to what; nor do I understand why this isn't working. Oh well.

Blog by DougI haven't been here for a while and the "Blog This" window isn't working. Construction started today on our remodel, meaning that Kent and I worked in the backyard and took off the awning. He's going to use it at his house. The pieces are being stored at Dick's in the meantime; hope Dick's OK with that. Heidi and Margot at the mountains with Cathleen; I'm going to try to start some school work. This Fri. I'm off to Vegas with Wes. And with that, another thrilling blog entry has come to an end. Now to check if this will post OK or all goofy.
See ya.
See ya.

Hi,
it's been a while since I've been here and I just wanted to make sure I remembered how to do it.
That's about it.
Saw Million Dollar Baby today. Good flick. Sad ending.
Little Margot went to sleep fairly quickly tonight. We're having fun with her. A good blog would be to update daily with all the cute and smart things she does. I don't know if that's this blog, though.
I'm going to go to sleep.
See ya!

So much computing and internetting power
at my fingertips; so little to say with it.
Starbucks' eggnog lattes are good.
I'd bet they'd taste even better with a touch of brandy in them.
A good future blog entry would be to detail my ongoing life project of reading one Charles Dickens book each year, starting when I was thirty and continuing until I'm forty-five. But not this entry.
Night!
